Ben’s Book Basket

In addition to my growing collection of picture books…

I keep a separate board book basket in my grandbaby’s playroom. This basket is filled with stories geared toward his age and whatever theme I’ve planned for the week. It's so much fun to see his eyes light up when Monday rolls around:

Here’s the breakdown of our current favorites:

Beep! Beep! Beep! Meet Blue. A muddy country road is no match for this little pick up--that is, until he gets stuck while pushing a dump truck out of the muck. Luckily, Blue has made a pack of farm animal friends along his route. And they're willing to whatever it takes to get their pal back on the road.

It's a Little Book by Lane Smith

It's a Little Book asks what a book is for--Is it for chewing? Is it for wearing?--and answers the question in a warm and charming way.

And check out the book trailer:

Barnyard Dance! by Sandra Boynton

Everybody sing along—because it's time to do-si-do in the barnyard with a high-spirited animal crew!

Jamberry by Bruce Degen

Hatberry
Shoeberry
In my canoeberry
Under the bridge
And over the dam
Looking for berries Berries for jam

They're off...a boy and an endearing, rhyme-spouting bear, who squires him through a fantastic world of berries. And their adventure comes to a razzamatazz finale under a starberry sky.

Adorable!

A Twitter friend recommended ABC, Baby Me! but I couldn't find it. I'm putting it on my next book order, though. Here's a link if you're interested:
